Hoffman Estates teen pleads guilty to Des Plaines robberies

A Hoffman Estates teen was sentenced to four years in prison for a string of Des Plaines-area burglaries police say he and a co-defendant committed earlier this year.

In exchange for the guilty plea to residential burglary, a Cook County Circuit Court judge recommended boot camp for 18-year-old Keewon Taylor, of the 1800 block of Grantham Place.

Taylor and his 17-year-old co-defendant, Eric Simmons, of the 1300 block of Highland Drive in Des Plaines, admitted committing the burglaries, which took place from January to March, said Des Plaines police in a prepared statement.

Taylor received credit for 24 days in custody. Simmons appears in a Skokie courtroom on Dec. 14.
