Franks fights for people, not party

The media is reporting that the nation is seeing the economy recover, but the truth is that average Americans are still struggling day to day. These are difficult times that we live in, and we need our representatives to keep the interests of the voters in mind.

It amazes me that in the state of Illinois there are legislators who are trying to raise taxes in the midst of the economic downturn. Fortunately, there are a few good representatives who have not completely lost sight of how hard it is for their constituents to make ends meet. One of them is Jack Franks. Even though it is not easy to stand up against those who are on the same side, he has fought against his own party not to raise taxes.

Few elected officials today keep their word when it comes to campaign promises. My thanks to State Rep. Jack Franks for not only staying true to his word but doing so in hard times and in the face of opposition from friend and foe. We need more elected officials like him.
