District 93 seeking new board member

The Carol Stream District 93 school board is looking for a new member to replace Rick DeVries, who resigned effective Sept. 23.

The board plans to appoint someone who will serve until April 2011, at which time the new member would stand for election if they wish to continue.

Candidates must submit their applications by noon Oct. 12 to: The Board of Education, Community Consolidated School District 93, c/o Tony Cicero, board president, 230 Covington Drive, Bloomingdale, 60108-3106.

Any applicant must be a U.S. citizen, 18 or older, a registered voter and a resident of District 93 for at least a year.
