Scouting Streamwood at East Aurora

Streamwood (1-3) at East Aurora (0-4)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Roy E. Davis Field

Last meeting: 2008, Streamwood 40, East Aurora 21

Last week: St. Charles North 56, Streamwood 42; Neuqua Valley 43, East Aurora 0

Outlook: The Sabres have won three straight in this series and four of the last eight. Streamwood's offense scored 42 points last week, its highest point total since the Sabres defeated Neuqua Valley 44-22 in 2000. "The passing game became a bigger part of our package last week," coach Cal Cummins said. "That was something we either hadn't used much or didn't have the need for early. It was good to put things together both passing and running the football so, hopefully, that will help us the rest of the way." Junior quarterback Dalton Lundeen threw for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns last week, each to 6-foot-2 sophomore wide receiver Blake Holder (4 catches, 82 yards). East Aurora has been outscored 157-18, but the Sabres can't take a victory for granted. "They definitely have some athletes and some speed," Cummins said of the Tomcats. "Any time you have that combination things can change in a hurry, so it's a matter of trying to contain their opportunities. A win would go a long way going into the final phase of the season."
