Disney star Thornton to highlight Bartlett event

Kids who love Disney Channel shows, and in particular want to meet Tiffany Thornton of "Sonny With a Chance," are invited to the Disney Red Carpet Experience Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Bartlett Park, 102 N. Eastern Ave., Bartlett.

Disney, Comcast and the Bartlett Park District are teaming up for a three-hour event, 5-8 p.m. that includes games, an autograph session with Thornton, and music. A prop from the "Hannah Montana Show" will be awarded to one winner. At 8 p.m. the movie "Aladdin" will be shown.

Autographs will be limited to those with wristbands. Wristbands will distributed at 5 p.m. and you must be present to get one - only one wristband per person will be given out.

Backdrops from several Disney shows will be on location and you can have your photo taken on a Disney "set." Radio Disney also will play music and games throughout.

The entire event will be moved to the Bartlett Community Center Oak Room in case of inclement weather. For information, (630) 540-4800 or bartlettparks.org.
