Farmers Market Apple Crisp

8 medium apples, MacIntosh or Gala recommended#189; cup granulated sucralose or 3/4 cup white sugar4 tablespoons flour1 teaspoon ground cinnamon4 tablespoons butter or margarine, dicedTopping1 cup flour#189; cup brown sugar substitute or regular brown sugar6 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into chunksHeat oven to 375 degrees. Coat 10-by-10-inch pan with cooking spray.Core and peel apples, thinly slice. Place half apples in the pan and sprinkle with half the sweetener, flour and cinnamon. Spread half the butter pieces over top. Continue with remaining apples, sweetener, flour and butter. Apples should fill the dish and may be heaped slightly.In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar for topping. Cut butter into mixture, starting with 2 tablespoons and then 1 tablespoon at a time, until it resembles coarse crumbs; sprinkle over apples. Bake 1 hour or until top is golden and fruit is tender.Serves six to eight.
