Geneva Jazz in Batavia:

The River Rhapsody Concert Series, presented by the Batavia Park District, will feature the Geneva Jazz Ensemble from 7 to 8:30 Wednesday night on the Batavia Riverwalk, Houston Street at Island Avenue. Movie in Sugar Grove:

As part of the Summer Reading Wednesday Special Programs, the Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 S. Municipal Drive, will show the PG-rated movie, "Monsters vs. Aliens," from 2 to 3:40 p.m. today. Senior fun in Elburn:

The Elburn Seniors club meets at 11:30 a.m. the first Thursday of the month at the Elburn Lions Club, 400 S. Filmore St. You do not have to live in Elburn to participate. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. Coffee, iced tea and lemonade are provided. Cards, bingo and other games are played. Dues are $15 per year, of which $5 goes toward the annual pork chop dinner in August and $10 for a Christmas party. The club has a picnic in July. Call (630) 879-7898.

Girls' Night Out in Sugar Grove:

Spring Bluff Nursery will hold its annual Girls' Night Out celebration from 5 p.m. until dusk July 15 at 41W130 Norris Road, Sugar Grove. Local artists and vendors will begin showing at 5 p.m. and gourmet food tastings will begin at 6 p.m. A free perennial and goody bag will be given to the first 250 ladies to register for the event and a raffle for a large gift basket will benefit the Fox Valley Hospice. Yo-yos as art:

Gallery 28 in Geneva is having the "YO! Art On A YoYo All Ages Community Art Contest and Show." Participants can get an unassembled, unfinished yo-yo at the gallery, 28 N. Fourth St., or use their own. Designs must include art done on a standard-sized yo-yo. Entry is free, and a popular vote will determine the winner. Entries are due July 31.
