Chippewa's new principalBlackhawk Middle School Assistant Principal Nicole Robinson has been appointed principal of Chippewa School, effective July 1 in Bensenville Elementary District 2. Her appointment fills the post open due to the resignation of Lilith Werner. Additional administrative positions affecting Blackhawk include: Assistant Principal Perry Finch moved from a 10-month assistant principal post to the 12-month position held by Robinson. Seventh-grade teacher and team leader Sarah Casson was promoted to the 10-month assistant principal post held by Finch. Chippewa School serves 365 students in grades three through five.Bloomingdale woman honoredBloomingdale resident Colleen Demo recently was selected a "Hero in Long-Term Care" by the Illinois Health Care Association and the Illinois Council on Long Term Care. A resident of Alden Valley Ridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for more than three years, she is secretary of the facility's Resident Council as well as gift shop manager. Demo was selected for positively affecting the quality of life of residents at the facility.Band director honored Ron Keller, the longtime director of Naperville's Municipal Band, has received the Northern Illinois University Alumni Association's Outstanding Alumni Award for the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
