Lake Villa Elementary District 41 seeking new board member

The Lake Villa Elementary District 41 school board is working to fill an open seat following the resignation of Julie Sheehan.

"We really hate to lose a board member, but there are circumstances that need to be addressed at her end," District 41 Superintendent John Van Pelt said.

The school district has sent out a notice of vacancy and will accept letters of interest for the seat, which will run through April 2011. The deadline to apply for the seat is July 8.

"She really wants to continue, it's just difficult for her to do that," Van Pelt added. He said Sheehan resigned for personal, not related to the school district or board.

Sheehan could not be reached for comment.

The school board will most likely decide on who will fill the seat at its July 26 meeting.
