' Go Fish: The Musical' at DeShane Elementary

Admittedly, a tiger shark is an unlikely friend for anyone whether they swim the seas or stroll the beach.

But in "Go Fish: The Musical," second-graders at Roy DeShane Elementary School in Carol Stream found a lesson that will serve them well on the playground and in the years to come.

The students recently staged the play, a musical that takes place in the ocean and tells the story of a tiger shark who wants to befriend everyone - even the fish who are afraid of him.

Students dressed in colorful clothes to represent their various fish characters.

Teachers hope students take to heart the play's message about looking past their first impressions to see the good qualities in others.
