Algonquin library to host book sale

The Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library will host its spring book sale on Thursday, April 15 to Sunday, April 18 at the library's Eastgate Branch, 115 Eastgate Drive in Algonquin.

This well-organized sale features 23,000 items from children's books, to adult fiction and nonfiction books as well as gift books and audiovisual materials.

Sale hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 15 with a $10 entry fee this day only; 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17; and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18 with a half-price sale.

Children's books are 25 cents and up; paperbacks are 50 cents; softcover books are 75 cents; adult hardcover books are $1; and audiovisual materials are 50 cents to $3.

This volunteer group meets from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at the Eastgate Branch to sort and organize the many donated books and build a selection of books and materials for their valued customers.
