Three charged in shooting of Aurora man

Three people have been charged in a Wednesday shooting that injured an Aurora man.

Fernando Gonzalez, 29, of the 600 block of Wilder, Elgin, was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of weapon by a felon. Bail was set at $1 million.

Erik Sanchez, 27, of the 100 block of Bonnie Brae, Elmhurst, was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Bail was set at $750,000.

Ishmael Sanchez, 34, of the 200 block of South 27th Avenue, Bellwood, was charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and aggravated unlawful use of weapon by a felon.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. in the 700 block of East New York Street. The 23-year-old victim was treated at a hospital for a nonlife-threatening wound to his torso, according to Aurora police.

The men were arrested Wednesday, and the charges were filed Saturday.
