Carol Stream cops say Schaumburg man solicited minor

Bond is set at $200,000 for a Schaumburg man who is accused of trying to solicit a minor online.

Trevor Gatwood, 26, was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Thursday and later charged with indecent solicitation of a child and attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, said police.

A detective for the Carol Stream Police Department, who posed online as a 15-year-old girl, initiated an investigation after she was contacted on the Internet by a man who wanted to meet with her for sexual favors.

On Thursday, said officials, Carol Stream detectives arrested Gatwood when he drove to the 700 block of west Army Trail Road to meet with the supposed teen.

Gatwood was taken to the DuPage County Jail and appeared in bond court Friday.
