    P.M. Prime was awarded its liquor license on May 20 in a unanimous vote by the Highwood city council. Proprietor Steve Platcow of Lake Forest plans to open the new steakhouse in early July in the space that was formerly occupied by the popular Gabriel’s Restaurant.

    The members of the Elgin Teachers Association collected over 80 boxes of food donations for the Northern Illinois Food bank over 4 days. All the food was donated, collected and delivered for pickup by ETA members. The food was collected at member work sites May 19-22, and the food bank picked up the donation at the IEA office on Friday, May 23.
