  • Fox Valley police reports Jan 16, 2015 6:08 PM
    Lashawntel A. Mackay, 29, of the 100 block of 166th Street, Calumet City, was charged with theft at 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to a sheriff’s report. He is accused of stealing an iPhone from a worker at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. Authorities traced the GPS to Mackay, who had the phone and admitted the theft, the report said.

  • Forest preserve district OKs Carpentersville dam removal study Jan 13, 2015 4:50 PM
    The Kane County Forest Preserve District board Tuesday approved an intergovernmental agreement with a state agency to conduct an engineering study for removal of the Carpentersville dam on the Fox River. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has earmarked $500,000 for the engineering study, which will assess the impact of removing the dam.
