    Former Woodland bus driver pleads guilty to molesting teenager Oct 17, 2013 12:00 AM
    A former Woodland District 50 school bus driver pleaded guilty Thursday to molesting a teenager. Kristin Vesley-Miks, 33, will serve 36 months on probation and must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life following the negotiated plea in Lake County court. She was also sentenced to 18 months of periodic imprisonment, but she won't serve any jail time if she completes her probation, authorities said.

    Gurnee police said an 11-year-old boy is recovering at home after he was hit by a minivan and pinned under the vehicle at Woodland Middle School. “He's doing pretty well,” Cmdr. Jay Patrick said. “He's pretty shaken up by the whole experience.” Patrick said the crash remained under investigation.
