Ripon College Chamber Singers to Perform in Wheaton

On Saturday, January 7 at 7:30 p.m., Wheaton's Gary United Methodist Church will host a performance by the Ripon College Chamber Singers, who are currently on tour from Ripon, Wisconsin. The concert repertoire includes "O Sing Joyfully" by Adrian Batten, "Elohim Hashivenu" by Salamone Rossi, "Und ob ich schon wanderte im finstren Tal" by Georg Schumann, and "Thou, O Jehovah, Abideth Forever" by Aaron Copland. The concert will conclude with a wordless piece, "Gamelan," by R. Murray Schafer, that is meant to evoke the sounds of a Balinese Gamelan ensemble. The performance is free and open to the public. A good will offering will be taken.
