    First Congregational Church of Dundee will host a handbell concert featuring the Chicago Bronze English Handbell Ensemble at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22. Ring in the spring with bells at the first solo concert. From the excitement of Pizzicati to the soothing sounds of Debussy’s “Preludes: La fille aux cheveux de lin,” there’s something for everyone! The community is invited to this performance, which will benefit the bell program at the church.

     
  • Probation, fine in 30-pound West Dundee pot bust from 2013 Mar 2, 2015 5:20 PM
    A 45-year-old West Dundee man received three years of probation last week after pleading guilty to felony marijuana possession. Daniel L. Forcucci was arrested in a June 2013 domestic battery incident at his home, which authorities later searched and found 30 pounds of marijuana, according to police. He could be resentenced to up to 15 years in prison if he violates probation.

It wasn't a shopping rush. “Knowing that you're helping someone, that’s what keeps me going,” said Elgin mom Gabriela Maya of a walk-a-thon benefitting Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley.

    The Dundee Township Lions Club’s annual Girls Middle School Basketball Tournament starts this Saturday, Feb. 28, at Hampshire Middle School. The first game starts at 9 a.m. with Algonquin Middle playing Westfield Community School in the eighth-grade division. The second game begins at 10:30 a.m. with Dundee Middle playing Immanuel Lutheran. In the seventh-grade division, Algonquin Middle plays Carpentersville at 9 a.m. while Dundee Middle plays St. Catherine at 10:30 a.m.
