    Rolling Meadow's Nelson Sports Complex Pool will host the grand opening of its new splash pad June 15. The splash pad will allow younger children and children with disabilities to play in the water with zero depth. "This benefits not only the community, but also the special needs community as well," said Christine Capra, the marketing supervisor for the Rolling Meadows Park District.

McKenna, superintendent of parks for the Rolling Meadows Park District, teams Eagle candidates with jobs the park district needs done, and supervises. "I knew it would be a lot of work," says Scout Conor Thomas, "but I think Eagle Scout projects should be hard work."

And the Vikings’ setter, junior Marilyn Lortz, has been right in the middle of her team’s late-season rally. Lortz handed out a match-high 22 assists in Tuesday’s 25-15, 25-20 victory over visiting Buffalo Grove in a battle of the two second-place teams from the Mid-Suburban West and East divisions.
