Prospect's boys basketball team showed its ability to leave a disappointing loss in the rearview mirror Wednesday. Less than 24 hours after a 66-58 loss against Notre Dame, the Knights led nearly wire-to-wire in a 64-58 consolation victory over Loyola Academy in the 33rd Annual Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic.

Pairings for the 33rd annual Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic boys basketball tournament have undefeated St. Viator and Vernon Hills in the bottom half of the bracket. Pairings were released Monday morning for the 16-team tournament which runs Dec. 27-30.

Senior Katie Faught and her Chicago-area ranked Loyola Academy girls basketball team fought hard for Saturday’s afternoon victory in Palatine. Going up against an 8-1 Fremd team which had just won a Mid-Suburban League West game 15 hours earlier, the Ramblers found themselves down by 13 points with less than four minutes to go in the third quarter.
