    After losing to Grant by 19.5 points last weekend at the North Suburban Conference meet, the Libertyville wrestling team was ready to get some revenge Saturday at their own Class 3A regional. The visiting Bulldogs only trailed the Wildcats by 7.5 points heading into the final round, but playing “catch up” the rest of the way was not a winning formula as Libertyville put away its constant nemesis by a final score of 214.5 to 192. In the process, the Wildcats won their 27th regional championship in school history and they advanced to the team sectional Feb. 25 against McHenry regional champion Barrington at a site to be determined.

    Lakes’ boys basketball team earned a hard-fought 61-60 win over visiting Grant in North Suburban Prairie Division play Saturday night. Despite playing short-handed, the Eagles improved to 11-12 and year and 7-3 in the NSC Prairie Division. David Milostan led the way a season-high 18 points for Lakes, and Michal Tomasiewicz contributed 16.

    A funeral will be held Sunday for a Lake County nurse who was fatally struck by a plow truck this week. he service for Diane Shogren, 51, of Ingleside, is set for 7 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry. It will be preceded by a visitation that will run from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
