    Metro West Council of Government, a nonprofit organization that represents municipalities in Kane, Kendall and DeKalb counties, will hold its annual legislative breakfast on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Gaslite Manor, 2485 Church Road in Aurora. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. The program start at 8 a.m. State legislators from the area have been invited to meet with mayors and managers to discuss legislative issues of importance to municipalities.

     
  • McHenry County to train frog monitors Feb 20, 2015 12:14 PM
    Become a citizen scientist and be a frog monitor. Participate in McHenry County Conservation District’s Frog Monitoring Workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Prairieview Education Center in Crystal Lake. You will learn the techniques and protocol for monitoring the 13 species of frogs and toads of the region by their calls. After completing the training, interested volunteers may monitor district sites or private wetlands.
