Local GameWorks champ from Prospect Heights
GameWorks' seven venues nationwide, including the one at Streets of Woodfield shopping center in Schaumburg, just completed their local Super Smash Bros. competition in which gamers competed for a shot at a prize pool valued at $25,000. One winner from each location is being provided a paid trip to Las Vegas to battle it out on June 29.
The local winner was Jeffrey Solberg, 18, of Prospect Heights, who just graduated from John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights. He said he got into game playing early on with his older brother and sister. He's been playing Super Smash for as long he can remember and it's his favorite game.
