Lombard picks three winners of Lilac Time Photo Contest

The winners of Lombard's 2019 Lilac Time Photo Contest have been announced.

The winning entries will be displayed at the village hall, used on the village's new website and be featured in the fall/winter issue of the Pride Newsletter. Residents and visitors were invited to submit photos that best represented Lombard during Lilac Time.

First place went to Tom Morris for "Welcome to Lilacia." Andrea Waas finished second with "Home Sweet Lombard," and Katie Kooima took third for "Looking Back Through the Lilacs."

The winners also will receive Yorktown Shopping Center gift cards, valued at $100, $50 and $25, respectively. Greg Kozlick, Della Kelly, Chris Runge and Daniela Hendricks received honorable mention.

"We received more photos than ever before and the competition was fierce," said Trustee Dan Militello, chairman of the Community Relations Committee, which selected the winning photos.

"While all of the submitted photos were beautiful, the winning photos were chosen because they contained iconic imagery that focused specifically on Lombard during Lilac Time."
