Waubonsee marks Veterans Day Nov. 12 with special events

Waubonsee Community College will host a Veterans Day observance Monday, Nov. 12.

The event will feature remarks by Paul Herbert, a retired Army colonel and current executive director of the First Division Museum at Cantigny. The event also will feature a presentation of colors by members of the East Aurora Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, as well as music performed by students of the Waubonsee music department.

The event will be held at 11:15 a.m. in the Academic and Professional Center, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive in Sugar Grove. The ceremonial Navy Band Great Lakes will perform a collection of patriotic music to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

The concert also will be held in the Academic and Professional Center at noon.
