Four free concerts in Lisle's Community Park

There will be four free concerts this July and August at the newly renovated Van Kampen Memorial Stage in Lisle's Community Park, near Route 53 and Short Street.

The stage has a completely new look following renovations that resulted in a larger performing area, seat wall, small soundboard dugout area in the hill, natural area enhancements, new dance lawn in front of the stage and shoreline stabilization to the pond banks adjacent the stage area.

Lisle Park District is looking forward to highlighting this signature feature at 1825 Short St. with a summer entertainment series that features four free concerts from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, July 18 to Aug. 8.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and drinks will be for sale. Free parking will be available at Lisle High School, Sea Lion Aquatic Park, the Community Center and the Recreation Center.

Here's a quick look at the performers:

• July 18: Heartache Tonight, Eagles tribute band.

• July 25: Mike Wheeler Band, Chicago blues.

• Aug. 1: Hillbilly Rockstarz, country hits.

• Aug. 8: Common Allies, '70s cover band.
