Batavia club's 18th annual Fox Trot 5K/10K raises $6,200 for charities and schools

On April 28, the Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation hosted the 18th annual Fox Trot 5K & 10K race at the Batavia Riverwalk.

More than 250 runners and walkers participated in the 5K and 10K races which hosted children and adults alike.

In addition, almost 100 children participated in two kids' runs: the Junior Jog, a noncompetitive race for children in preschool through first grade, and the Youth Run, for second through fifth graders.

The Batavia Academy of Dance was on hand to perform and cheer the runners on!

Overall, the event raised approximately $6,200 for area charities and schools.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation thanks all of the donors, volunteers, and sponsors, especially Apollo Development & Investment; A.R. Bohr Roofing, LLC; Mosquito Joe; Orange Theory Fitness; and Dick Pond Athletics, without whom these events could not take place. They also would like to thank all of the dedicated runners and walkers, many of whom return year after year!

The money raised from this event, as well as all of the foundation's events, are disbursed to local charities and educational organizations serving women, children, and families.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation members put on a spectacular event and hope that you will join them for Fox Trot next year!

The nonprofit organization, founded in 1934, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in the Fox Valley area.

Each year, the club donates $20,000-$50,000 to local charities, including the CHIP IN Batavia and CASA Kane County, whose activities support this mission.

The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is open to all mothers in the area who are interested in local philanthropic, service, and community activities.
