Spooky, kooky 'Addams Family' comes to Lake Park

The musical comedy "The Addams Family" opened Thursday at Lake Park High School in Roselle and runs through Sunday on the east campus.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29, in the Dice Auditorium at 600 S. Medinah Road.

Based on the classic cartoon series by Charles Addams and the 1960s television show, "The Addams Family" features a teenage Wednesday Addams who has fallen in love with a normal boy from Ohio, Lucas Beineke. When she insists on "one normal night" for the families to meet before they get married, things inevitably go awry.

In the end, the musical shows that "normal" is in the eye of the beholder.

The cast features sophomore Jay Harrison, freshman Colin Payan, senior Nicolette Pilalis, junior Christiana Gatbunton, senior Holli Chandler, junior Kayla Rosecrants, sophomore John Bialek, sophomore Brian Provenzano, senior Ben Herring and senior Amanda Brommel.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for non-Lake Park students. Admission is free for senior citizens, children younger than 13 and Lake Park students with an ID.
