Forest preserve Friends adds new board member

Raymond S. Vogt of Naperville has been appointed to the board of directors of the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, the district's nonprofit support group.

Vogt retired as senior vice president and assistant to the chief executive officer at Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. in 2004 with more than 39 years of human resources experience as an executive, administrator and manager.

Vogt volunteers at St. James Farm and the Danada Model Farm at Danada Forest Preserve and has provided tractor-drawn hayrides to visitors at two major district events: Family Field Day at St. James Farm and Danada Fall Festival at Danada Equestrian Center.

Vogt has also served since 2014 as chairman of the board of trustees for the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission and School in Thoreau, New Mexico, which provides education, employment and outreach services for the people of the Eastern Navajo Nation.

"Ray will be a tremendous asset to the Friends board," forest preserve President Joe Cantore said "He brings enthusiasm and expertise to this position."

"We are pleased to add Ray Vogt to our board," said Friends board President Scott Hardek. "Ray's business experience, prior work on boards of other nonprofit organizations, and demonstrated devotion to the district's goals through his volunteer work will add valued experience and energy to the work of the Friends board."

The Friends board advances the vision of the district through philanthropic endeavors. Details on Friends, including giving options and the Ambassadors Circle, are available at dupageforest.org/friends.
