Wheaton's Arrowhead offers wintertime options
It may be the off-season for a round of 27 holes, but that doesn't stop Wheaton Park District's Arrowhead Golf Club from keeping the ball rolling.
Here's a look at some of the January events planned at the facility:
• Arrowhead Restaurant and Bar invites guests to lunch while promoting the Lucky Lunch Box Giveaway.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, themed lunch box packages of up to $250 are available to win. Cubs tickets and Mother's Day brunch are among six options you can enter to win from now until March 17. Winners will be chosen on or about March 31.
• If specialty beers are a better fit for your events calendar, Arrowhead's VIP tasting event, Straight from the Tap, is back for its fourth year on Saturday, Jan. 27. With more limited releases and more sneak peeks of spring releases, Straight from the Tap gives guests the opportunity to sip, sample and socialize for a cause.
Raffle and silent auction proceeds benefit the Play For All Playground and Garden Foundation's development of the Sensory Garden Playground, an accessible facility dedicated to helping children of all abilities play side-by-side. "This is a true VIP beer experience with 15 different breweries who bring 32 incredibly hard-to-find beers," said Director of Restaurant and Banquet Operations Brian Whitkanack.
VIP admission is $60 and includes private event access, 32, two-ounce samples, hors d'oeuvres and entertainment. Designated driver admission is $20 and includes everything but 32, two-ounce samples.
Guests must be 21 or older to attend. A valid photo ID is required on the day of event.
