Northwestern Mutual - Northbrook Forms Partnership with Great Lakes Naval Base Transition Goals-Plan-Succeed Program

Integrity. Accountability. Leadership. These are just a few of the transferable qualities that help veterans transit from military to civilian life. They are also some of the elements of success found in Northwestern Mutual financial representatives. And, it's why Northwestern Mutual - Northbrook has formed a partnership with Great Lakes Naval Base Transition GPS Program.

"At Northwestern Mutual we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic who are mission-oriented; skills that our military men and women possess," said James Stinson, Managing Director of the Northbrook-based financial planning firm. "At the same time, veterans are looking for work that is meaningful and will make an impact which aligns with the career as a financial representative."

Through the partnership, Stacy White, Director of Recruitment and Selection, will work with Jim, participating in monthly panel discussions and providing veterans with job search strategies, resume and interviewing tips while also introducing them to the career opportunity as a financial representative.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and the Family Employment Readiness program at the Great Lakes Fleet and Family Support Center works with transitioning military members and their families, helping them prepare for the civilian job search.
