Schaumburg/Naperville Co-Authors Release Children's Book

Animal poems, colorful wildlife photos and fun facts fill the pages of "Pawprints in the Snow: How God Protects Animals from the Cold," by Schaumburg resident Susan Miura and Naperville resident Patt Nicholls. Pawprints will be among the many books for sale during Indie Author Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

Miura will be one of 25 authors selling and signing books for all ages, in many genres, in The Commons on the library's first floor. She is also the author of "Show Me a Sign," a young adult novel, and "Healer," due out in January, 2018 from Vinspire Publishing.

Pawprints in the Snow, released in March, combines poetry, facts, faith and photography to teach children how each animal is uniquely created to live in its environment. Each poem and "fun fact" is accompanied by a full-page photo, taken by Miura and co-photographer Robert Kramer of Chicago.

"Kids will learn that faith and science go together, and that God made sure his creatures had just what they needed to survive," according to a review in thedaddy.guide.com, which gave Pawprints a rating of 9.5 out of 10. "Kids will also gain a better understanding of and respect for animals. The best part about the book is that the poems and photos will make learning feel like fun. Perfect for families, homeschoolers and Christian classrooms, daycares and preschools."

Some of the poems and photos from Pawprints in the Snow, along with a book trailer, can be seen on Miura's website at www.susanmiura.com.
