Impressive Pakistan Heritage Festival Draws Large Crowd in Skokie

The Independence Pakistan Heritage Festival Day Mela, held on August 27, 2017 in Niles North High School 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie. The Festival was featured live musical performances and Choreography by Sanam Studio Dancers, Pakistani handicrafts, costumes and ethnic food. The Festival celebrations began at 6 pm with a recitation from the Holy Qur'an well known community leader Raja Yaqoob. It was followed by the national anthem of Pakistan national anthem and United State of America. Famous singer Malaika Faisal and Legendary Singer Ali Haider amused the audience with their thrilling performances.

The event was organized by the Mera Pakistan Chicago. The organization was led by Chairman Aasif Malik and Vice Chairman Mian Saqlain and festival program organized by Masood Sahi, Mubashir Feroze and Raja Razzaq.

Program emcee Essam Chaudhary did a great job with keeping the program going efficiently. The Festival was planned with rich highlights depicting Pakistani cultural heritage, diversity, dance, music, and food. A joyous spirit prevailed among the people who came from far and near to participate in the Festival. Many were waving huge Pakistani flags while others sported shirts with an imprint of the national flag. Many were dressed in green colored costumes.

The Festival was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number of Pakistanis who had gleefully Performance and Choreography by the Sanam Studios Dancers.

The Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi also graced the occasion. It was a one of a kind event and everyone enjoyed every minute

Soon the emcee announced that Ali Haider the was about to perform. All the teenagers started Bhangra as Ali Haider performed his hit songs.

The festival offered an opportunity for businesses to provide support, patronage and encourage events that increase and strengthen the cultural diversity and community involvement.

It was a very successful event attended by more than ten thousand and exhibited a great sense of pride and love for Pakistan.
