Cary Parks to host Happy Trails Fishing Derby Sept. 16

The Cary Park District will host a Happy Trails Fishing Derby from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Jaycee Park, 650 Cary-Algonquin Road in Cary.

New and experienced anglers can learn about fishing etiquette and receive a quick lesson followed by fishing in the Jaycee Park pond.

Raffle prizes, goody bags, and information on fishing will be included. Fishing poles, tackle and bait will be provided or participants may bring their own. Anyone 16 years and older must have a current Illinois fishing license.

This catch-and-release event will be held rain or shine. It is free and open to the public.
