ILLINOIS AMERICAN WATER CONDUCTS WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM CLEANING IN VALLEY VIEW SERVICE AREA

Beginning in the month of August 2017, Illinois American Water will be cleaning its wastewater collection mains in the Valley View (Glen Ellyn, Lombard) service area.

This cleaning is scheduled to continue through the summer. This cleaning will not affect your wastewater service.

Illinois American Water conducts a cleaning program of its wastewater collection system to help ensure continued high-quality service. Cleaning the wastewater collection system entails sending a rapid flow of water from a cleaning nozzle through the wastewater mains. The water scours the inside of the main loosening and removing any debris. This routine maintenance helps to prevent blockages and backups.

According to Richard Hermann, Senior Manager of Field Services and Production for the Chicago Metro District, "Routine cleaning is necessary not only to maintain a proper functioning collection system, but is essential to ensure reliable wastewater collection service to customers."

Illinois American Water is committed to providing our service areas with reliable wastewater service. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact our Operations Supervisor, Tom Harrell, at 630-739-8870 or thomas.harrell@amwater.com.
