Augustfest returns to St. Zachary in Des Plaines

Augustfest returns to St. Zachary Parish, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 11-13, featuring big name festival bands, a carnival, casino, bingo, family games and food.

The headlining bands are Heartache Tonight Thursday, Infinity Friday, 7th heaven Saturday and the Meteors Sunday.

Festival hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, 1 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

There are unlimited ride specials available for the carnival, including a full weekend pass for $50 available Thursday evening. Daily $20 passes are available for 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Children's games will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A St. Zachary original game, Bottle Blast!, where everyone wins a prize, will be open all hours of the fest. Pull tabs and prizes are at the adult games tent.

Bingo will be offered in the air-conditioned Parish Life Center from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday. "Las Vegas" Casino hours are 6 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Food vendors include Evan's Place, Giuseppe's La Cantina, Mia's Cantina, Zak's Kitchen, Zak's Chicken, Zak's Polish, Cold Stone Creamery, Orange & Chicken, Kusina De Manila and Illusion Bar, Grill and Café.

1:30 p.m. El Rey Music Center, established in 1947, based in downtown Arlington Heights

6:30 p.m. Run Forest Run

9 p.m. 7th heaven, known for its "30 songs in 30 Minutes" medley

SUNDAY

2 p.m. Deborah Kugler, vocalist at St. Zachary Masses and weddings, and her band members perform pop music classics

3:30 p.m. Maddy Griseto, vocalist making her fourth Augustfest appearance with her band playing rock, country and pop

6 p.m. The Meteors, '60s oldies rock 'n' roll dance band
