Bartlett 4th of July Festival returns
The Bartlett 4th of July 2017 Festival will include a carnival, free entertainment, a parade, fireworks, sky divers and a great sense of community spirit Friday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 4.
A variety of musical acts will be performing throughout the five-day event. On Friday, Smokin' Gunz will play from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by Modern Day Romeos from 8 to 11 p.m.
Performers on Saturday will be the Streamwood Children's Choir from noon to 12:45 p.m., Jenn Panfil from 1 to 2 p.m., 4th Point from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Voyage from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Bad Medicine from 6 to 8 p.m. and Anthem from 8:30 to 11 p.m.
Music acts on Sunday will be Crossfire from 3 to 4 p.m., Johnny Russler & Beach Bum Band from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Billy Elton from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Sixteen Candles from 9 to 11 p.m.
The bands on Monday will be One Night from 5 to 6 p.m., Brock and Adams from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and American English from 8:30 to 11 p.m.
The final day's acts on Tuesday will be Los Treboles Negro from noon to 2 p.m. in the food tent, Rick Lindy & the Wild Ones from 2 to 4 p.m., Sam Savage from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Semple from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
The carnival will include a period exclusively for special-needs children and their immediate caregivers from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, for which online registration is available.
The festival's parade will start on Oak Avenue from North Avenue at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The fireworks display will end the festival from 9:30 to 10 p.m. July 4 at Apple Orchard Park, near South Bartlett and Stearns roads.
The main festival grounds also are at that intersection, near the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road.
The festival committee was formed in August 1992 to create a hometown celebration for the children and families of the community. The event has been gradually expanded over the years.
