Water fights highlight Fox Lake Fireman's Fest

The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department will host the 59th Annual Fox Lake Fireman's Festival Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25.

Festival hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

The highlight of the event is the water fights, in which teams of firefighters or men or women from local businesses square off to push an aluminum keg past the opposing team using fire hoses.

Saturday will feature firefighter water fights starting at 5 p.m. and a Super Raffle at 6:30 p.m. Live music will be provided by the band Rock Star Rodeo at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday will feature the business men and women's water fights. Teams are still needed and can sign up Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday's events will also include several kids bouncy houses and a water slide.

There will be food and drink available for purchase all weekend, including beer, brats, hot dogs, burgers and corn. A meat raffle will be held throughout festival hours both days.

The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department is at 114 Washington St., Ingleside.
