Windsor Park invites visitors to take a garden stroll

Nature lovers are invited to a garden stroll at Windsor Park to see the retirement community's grounds and the balcony gardens created by residents.

The garden stroll begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at Windsor Park, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream.

The annual event features colorful and unusual gardens and balconies maintained by residents.

"Come spring, residents tend their gardens and create a natural wonderland that we're proud to share with the community," sales director Janet Cannon said.

The grounds feature five fish-filled lakes, a variety of trees, bushes and other foliage, and stone and grassy paths that wind throughout the community. Painted pots filled with colorful blooms are situated on residents' balconies and garden patios, and birdbaths add an artistic touch to the fragrant butterfly gardens.

A boxed lunch will be served on the patio after the garden stroll.

Space is limited and reservations are required for this free event. For reservations, call (877) 836-5664 or visit windsorparkillinois.org/events.
