'Thirsty Thursday' fundraiser aids senior center

Feeling thirsty? Head out to Twin Lakes from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, for the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council's "FUNdraising One Beer at a Time" to benefit the Palatine Township Senior Center.

Enjoy drinks, food, music, games and raffles under the tent and on the deck at Twin Lakes, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive, in Palatine. Presale tickets are $20 each or $18 for 5 or more; $25 at the door. Tickets include an appetizer buffet from 6-7:30 p.m., beer from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and a door prize ticket.

50/50 raffle tickets are available for $2 each, three for $5, 10 for $10 or 25 for $20 in advance or at the event. Raffle baskets are also available for the same price per ticket. Raffle prizes include several liquor baskets, Sox tickets, gift certificates to restaurants, golf and water parks, and more.

PTSCC provides programs and services that support older adults and their families by encouraging independence, well-being and connection to the community. Recreation, Education, Health and Wellness, Noon Dining, Home Delivered Meals, Adult Day Care, and Social Services programs are available to persons 50 and older and their families who live in Palatine Township and the surrounding communities in the North and Northwest suburbs.

Services are available in English, Spanish and Russian at five satellite locations. The Social Services staff also makes home visits.
