Reading by Design at Palatine Library, June 1 - August 15

Sign up for Reading by Design-this year's Summer Reading Program at Palatine Library-between Thursday, June 1, and Tuesday, August 15. District cardholders of all ages can visit www.palatinelibrary.org and log their own reading progress, or sign up at any Palatine Library location.

After registering, receive a scratch-off card to play a game of chance! You could win a STEM prize of your choice: Metal Earth Model or LEGO kit, sponsored by the Friends of the Palatine Library. Plus, the scratch-off card has amazing freebies and discounts around town-thanks to our 2017 Summer Reading Program Partners: Arlington Lanes, Culver's of Palatine, Photos Hotdogs, Sarpino's Pizzeria and Spunky Dunkers, Palatine.

Bring the whole family to the Kick-off Party on Saturday, June 3, from noon through 3 p.m. for an exciting selection of games and activities including BINGO, face painting, prizes, and a photo booth. Stop by the craft station to make a catapult to take home.

Get charged up about electricity with the hair-raising Van de Graaff generator and the exciting buzz of the tesla coil at Science Alliance's The Electrical ZAP from 1-2 p.m. Tickets are available Saturday, May 27, to valid District cardholders. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program at the Kick-off Party and enter a drawing for your chance to win a two-pack of day-pool passes, donated by the Palatine Park District.

After finishing the Reading by Design program, participants will receive a Grand Prize

T-shirt or tote bag, generously donated by the Friends of the Palatine Public Library. Claim yours through Thursday, Aug. 31.
