Women's Club of Inverness raises funds for scholarships

The Women's Club of Inverness (WCI) embraced the theme of "My Fair Stylish Lady" and donned hats of ribbons and feathers to celebrate the transformation made possible through scholarships and philanthropic grants.

More than 400 women participated in a very full day at Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre, and helped to raise more than $ 43,000.

Members and guests shopped at 30 vendor displays, bought tickets for raffle baskets and bid on auction items. Stonegate's lunch was followed by entertainment by the Fred Astaire dancers and ZZAZZ's fashion show with designer Taneasha Prunty from Gidi in attendance.

Eighteen committees began work last summer to organize and create lavish detail. Vendors, donors, and patrons generously gave.

Jay Kist, Barb Ross and Karen Spering chaired and shaped the beauty of the day. Everyone knew the efforts of many will help women, children, families and students.

WCI is a 501 (c)(3) philanthropic organization.
