Lombard sponsors Lilac Time photo contest
Lombard is sponsoring its fourth annual Lilac Time Photo Contest featuring photos from Lilac Time events that run through May 21.
The winning photos will be featured on the village website, displayed at the village hall and used in promotional materials.
The contest is open to residents and visitors and must include images from Lombard's 2017 Lilac Time.
Categories include: best photo of Lilacia Park; photo that best shows the spirit of community in Lombard; and the best Lilac Time Parade photo.
The goal of the contest is to collect and display beautiful images from the community during Lombard's most popular time of year. Images will be judged by the Community Relations Committee and winners will be contacted via email and announced on the village's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages on June 16.
The first-place winner will receive a prize worth no less than $100; the second-place winner will receive a prize worth no less than $50; and the third-place winner will receive a prize worth no less than $25.
In order to be considered, submissions must follow the contest rules:
• Images must be submitted by the person who took the picture. You cannot submit another person's photograph.
• Photographs must be from the 2017 Lilac Time Festival.
• Submissions must specify which category they represent (best Lilacia Park photo; photo that best shows spirit of community in Lombard; best Lilac Time Parade photo).
• All images must be named. (Example: 2016's winning photograph by Lindsey Rivers was titled "Looking Back Through the Lilacs.")
• Submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, and require a signed release form available at www.villageoflombard.org/photocontest.
• Entries must be submitted digitally through email to communications@villageoflombard.org, on CD or flash drive to the village hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., or via social media by using #VOLLilacTime.
• Entries are limited to five images per person. If more than five photos are submitted by one individual, only the first five will be judged.
A number of photos submitted to the village during the Lilac Time Photo Contest also will be featured in a gallery on the village's Facebook page and used for future use by the Village of Lombard. All photos submitted to the village during the contest are subject to future use by the village.
