Elgin

• An Elgin man who went to the police station after his brother's arrest on a warrant found himself in plenty of trouble on Thanksgiving Day. James M. Luecke, 44, of the 1000 block of Lakewood, Elgin, who initially didn't face any charges, hurled racial epithets at black and Latino inmates, threatened to beat them up and also insulted various police officers, threatening assault them up as well, reports state. When five officers tried to carry Luecke to a padded cell, he kicked and punched the window of the cell he was already in, forcing police to deploy several rounds of pepper spray, according to reports. Police also used a shield to pin Luecke to the ground before carrying him to the padded cell. Luecke was charged with aggravated assault and resisting a police officer. He could not be processed due to his unruly behavior and was awaiting the next bond call.

• A Boston terrier dog, an XBox360 video game console and two video game discs were stolen from a home in the 600 block of Wright Street between 3 p.m. and just after midnight Friday., reports said. According to police, the locking side of the home's door frame was splintered, and that may have been how the burglar entered the house. Reports said the dog was last seen in a locked cage in an upstairs bedroom.

• A 16-year-old boy said someone pistol whipped him three or four times in the head Thanksgiving Day. The incident occurred about 9 p.m. while the teen sat in a 1999 Dodge Caravan parked behind a restaurant in the 400 block of Summit Street, reports state. Police are looking for three men. Although the incident was classified as an armed robbery, reports did not specify what was taken. The boy, meanwhile, sustained several lacerations to his head, but ultimately declined medical attention.
