St. Charles

• A black-and-orange Gary Fisher brand BMX bicycle was reported stolen from in front of the St. Charles Public Library Oct. 30, police said. The bike was left unlocked and leaning against the building just outside the main entrance. The library has security cameras at that entrance. Footage shows a stocky white male riding off on the bicycle just 14 minutes before the owner of the bicycle discovered it missing. Water on the camera lens prevented police from getting a clear picture of the offender. The estimated value of the bike is $200.

•A cell phone was reported stolen from a staff member at St. Charles East High School on Nov. 6, police said. The staff member placed her cell phone on a counter inside of the book room near an open window. When she returned to the room later, the phone was gone.

• Three bottles of Cazadores tequila with a total value of about $120 were reported stolen from a Dominick's store on the 2000 block of Lincoln Highway Nov. 7, police said. The unidentified subject fled the store in a red Pontiac Sunfire with temporary license plates.

• Two bottles of Cazadores tequila were reported stolen from a Jewel/Osco on the 650 block of North Kirk Road Sunday, police said. The offender reportedly also stole several bottles of Grey Goose vodka from the same store about a week ago. The offender is described as a black female in her late 30s to mid-40s with a yellow blouse and a brown, frilly skirt. Police have recovered several fingerprints the offender left on bottles of beer she also touched.

• Craig Duane Carr, 44, of the 100 block of Smith Road, was charged Nov. 13 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Walmart, 150 Smith Road, observed Carr remove several bottles of pharmaceuticals, walk to another section of the store and place the pharmaceuticals inside a container. He then concealed the container and went through the checkout without paying for the items. The total value of the items was about $37.

• Michael Joseph Gawlik, 27, of the 100 block of North Fifth Avenue, was charged Tuesday with possession of cannabis, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and not wearing a seat belt, according to a police report. Officers discovered 13.71 grams of cannabis in Gawlik's pants after making a traffic stop on the vehicle he was driving.

Batavia

• An iPhone was reported stolen at 11:54 a.m. Monday at the Holmstad senior residence, Fabyan Parkway and Route 31, police said.

Geneva

• Fifteen pairs of designer sunglasses were stolen by a woman at 4 p.m. Nov. 11 from Geneva Opticians Ltd., 302 S. Randall Road, Suite 10, according to police.

• A spare tire was stolen off a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday in a lot at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave., police said

• Between 12:30 and 7:14 p.m. Saturday, someone tried to burglarize the Geneva Golf Club clubhouse, 831 South St., by prying a door, police said. A piece of wood covering a doorway that was damaged in a burglary attempt at 10 p.m. Nov. 13 had also been removed.

• Austin A. Zalewa, 19, who loves on Richards Street was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass smoking pipe, at 9:03 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North River Lane, according to a police report.

• A burglar broke a window and stole a Garmin GPS device out of a car between noon and 8 p.m. Monday in a parking lot in the 900 block of South Randall Road, police said.

• A patchwork-print Coach purse containing a checkbook and personal papers was stolen just before 1 p.m. Monday in a parking lot behind a shopping center in the 1700 block of South Randall Road, police said. The burglar smashed a window.

• A burglar broke a window and stole 10 compact discs and a black AT&T Tilt cellular telephone from a vehicle on a driveway in the 1800 block of Kaneville Road between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Saturday, police said.

• Robert C. Reuss, 52, of the 100 block of Richards Street, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 6:10 p.m. Nov. 10 in the 2300 block of Kaneville Road, according to a police report.

• A burglar stole $340 between 3 p.m. Nov. 11 and 10 a.m. Nov. 13 out of an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 900 block of Foxwood Circle, police said.

• A Garmin Nuvi GPS was stolen out of a vehicle in a driveway in the 800 block of Foxwood Circle between 5 p.m. Nov. 12 and 6:45 a.m. Nov. 13. The owner doesn't remember if the doors were locked, police said.

• Between 3 p.m. Nov. 12 and 11:40 a.m. Sunday, someone stole a rear license plate off a vehicle in a driveway in the 300 block of Sandholm Street, police said.

• A box of Miller High Life beer in camouflage-gray cans was stolen around 8:47 p.m. Nov. 13 out of an open garage in the 900 block of Longmeadow Drive, police said.
