A 63-year-old Aurora man faces up to 37 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a child he was baby sitting.

A Kane County jury late Tuesday convicted Jerald E. Spring, of the 1200 block of Orchard Road, on one count of predatory criminal sexual assault and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Prosecutors said Spring had "unlawful sexual contact" with a child younger than 13 who he was baby sitting between Jan. 1 and March 23, 2007.

Spring, who is being held in the county jail, faces nine to 37 years in prison at sentencing Jan. 19 in front of Associate Judge Patricia P. Golden.

He remains charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, in another case involving a second victim who was also younger than 13, the state's attorney's office said.
