Schaumburg Township District Library trustees have appointed Nicholas Scipione of Schaumburg to fill the board vacancy created by the recent resignation of Marilyn Froehlich.
e will serve through the next election in 2011. Scipione is a lifelong resident of the township and a former employee of the library who teaches science at Glenbard East High School in Lombard. He said he will "aggressively work to ensure that our library continues to offer equal access of valuable services to patrons of all ages and backgrounds."
Library President Ruth Jonen said there were many fine applicants for the trustee position. "In selecting Nick Scipione, we have an individual who brings a unique blend of education and experience to the board as well as the perspective of a young adult.
"We are looking forward to his service on the Schaumburg Township District Library board of trustees," Jonen said.
