The Village of Hoffman Estates honored Alexian Brothers Hospital Network Friday for sponsoring Alexian Brothers Fitness For America Sports Festival, where nearly 800 recreational and professional athletes came to Hoffman Estates last July to participate.

The Chicago Inline Marathon was the biggest draw, but this year they also added cycling and foot races. The Chicago Inline Marathon is the second largest event of its kind in the U.S., and organizers believe that in the next five years, this event will surpass Duluth, Minn. as the largest inline skating marathon.

Mark Frey, CEO of Alexian Brothers Hospital Network, said the festival gets everyone involved, from children to advanced skaters. The 2010 festival will be held toward the end of July.
