A 49-year-old Chicago man died Wednesday from a head injury caused by being thrown from a horse in Barrington Hills late last month.

Robert Boyle, of the 1500 block of West Wilson Ave. in Chicago, was pronounced dead at 5:29 a.m. Wednesday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

An autopsy conducted Thursday determined his cause of death to be cranial cerebral injuries that resulted from his fall from the horse in October.

Barrington Hills police and Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District paramedics were called to the scene of the accident at 16750 Old Sutton Road at 11:03 a.m. Oct. 28.
