After rebuilding the Schaumburg Flyers last summer and improving the team's win total by 13 games over its 2008 mark, Flyers Manager Mike Busch was rewarded with a new contract for 2010.

"We were the best team in the league over the final two weeks of the season in 2009," said Busch. "We'll have some good players back next year, and I'm looking forward to a great season."

Those players include shortstop Travis Brown, who was the Northern League Defensive Player of the Year, and pitcher Cephas Howard, who garnered honors as the Northern League's Rookie Pitcher of the Year.

Busch is the sixth manager in Flyers history. The former Calgary Viper skipper managed in the championship series three times in two different leagues from 2006 to 2008.

"Mike brought a level of talent and winning attitude to this team that we hadn't seen in a while," said Flyers assistant general manager Aaron Studebaker. "Mike has us all very anxious to see this team in 2010."
